Meese’s Infant Grandson Dies
WASHINGTON — Atty. Gen. Edwin Meese III’s 14-month-old grandson died in his sleep at his home in Hanau, West Germany, but the cause of death has not been determined, a Justice Department spokesman said today.
Andrew Scott Meese, son of Army Capt. Michael Meese, stationed in Hanau with his wife, Ramona, died Monday night in his crib. The attorney general immediately canceled an official visit to West Germany, France and Spain and a scheduled appearance before a federal grand jury investigating Wedtech Corp. He will travel instead to San Diego next week for his grandson’s funeral.
