Two Cerritos men were injured, one seriously, after they tumbled down a 30-foot beach cliff early Monday just north of Crystal Cove, officials said.
The men were strolling along the cliffs shortly before 2 a.m. when the dirt gave way and the two lost their balance and fell 30 feet, Sheriff’s Lt. Bob Rivas said.
Jerry Don Mullins, 21, suffered broken ankles and a compression fracture in his lower back, said a spokeswoman at Harbor General Hospital in Torrance, where Mullins was being treated Monday.
Jeffrey Mark Subia, 22, suffered minor back pains and was treated and released from Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, Rivas said.
