Studio City Mall Under Construction
Studio City Place, a $17.5-million, two-level enclosed retail shopping mall on Ventura Boulevard between Tujunga and Vineland avenues in Studio City, is under construction. Scheduled for a fall 1988 opening, the center is reportedly 70% pre-leased.
Developer Orrin Ericson, in a partnership venture of Ericson/Genova Associates and Weyerhaeuser Venture Co., said the project concept has been a joint effort between himself and Polly Ward, president of the local homeowners’ association and Los Angeles Councilman John Ferraro, with participation of surrounding property owners in the decision-making process.
Designed by Aldo Genova of Genova Associates, the center’s exterior will feature a rural country-style architecture and large glass atrium entrance. Construction financing was provided by National Bank of Canada and negotiated by Real Estate Advisors, Century City.
