Orange County Community College Roundup : Powers, Dafforn Lead Golden West Sweep
Dion Powers had nine kills and Barrie Dafforn, playing her first match in a month after spraining her ankle, had 40 assists to lead Golden West over Fullerton, 15-11, 15-11, 15-7, Wednesday night in a South Coast Conference volleyball match at Fullerton.
Golden West is 7-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
In South Coast Conference wrestling:
Rancho Santiago 19, Golden West 16--Dave Grisafi of Rancho Santiago took a 4-0 decision over Shaun Ruster at heavyweight as the Dons won at Golden West. Chris Shaul (170 pounds) and Paul Herrera (161) earned decisions.
In nonconference volleyball:
Grossmont 3, Orange Coast 0--Despite 12 kills by Jennifer Deiley, Grossmont won, 15-7, 15-13, 15-6, at Orange Coast. OCC is 2-3.
