A Berkeley city councilman wants the town to declare war on skateboards just as it did against plastic fast-food containers. Councilman Alan Goldfarb wants to make riding skateboards on city streets against the law. “Skateboards are all over the streets, and people are getting knocked down when they’re hit,†he said. Dozens of skateboarders, accompanied by their parents, voiced disapproval, saying skateboards were their only means of transportation.
