Eddie Ronan; Down Beat Cartoonist, Correspondent
Edwin V. (Eddie) Ronan, 71, a cartoonist and Big Band correspondent for the music magazine Down Beat. He drew and wrote the running comic strip “Reeds Gilbert†for the New York-based magazine for several years before moving to Hollywood as head of Down Beat’s West Coast office. His later illustrations appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle and the Los Angeles Times. In Claremont on Thursday of unreported causes.
