EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE
Boy, am I ever grateful to Calendar for its informative “earth-shattering” cover article on how those in the entertainment field were affected by the big quake (“The Movers and the Shaker: The Show Goes On . . . Mostly,” Oct. 3).
I, and I’m sure many of my now homeless friends in Whittier, can really rest easy knowing that Peggy Lee’s glass chandelier and Joe Smith’s wine cellar are intact, and that Armand Hammer did indeed manage to still get in his morning swim. (Phew!) I mean, I was truly worried!
Such a deep appreciation for the concerns of your readers is quite commendable. Keep up the good work.
