Orange County Community College Roundup : Golden West Wins in Water Polo, 18-7

Scott Larsen had four goals and Craig Douglass added three goals and three assists to lead Golden West College to an 18-7 nonconference water polo victory over Orange Coast Wednesday at Golden West. Jeff Wines added three goals and Mike Brown two for Golden West (11-3).
In Orange Empire Conference water polo:
Saddleback 24, Grossmont 7--Denny Bethke, Matt Bloom, Dave Knox, J.D. Dennis and John Salvino scored three goals each for Saddleback (5-0 in conference play, 8-1 overall) at Grossmont.
In nonconference volleyball:
Orange Coast 3, San Diego Mesa 0--Karen Nickel had 13 kills and 5 aces and Jennifer Dieley added 11 kills and 6 aces to lead the Pirates (2-2) to a 15-3, 15-11, 15-11 victory at OCC.
In nonconference wrestling:
Cypress 34, Palomar 7--Bill Montgomery (137 pounds), Joey Gillis (193) and Randy Gonzalez (heavyweight) each had pins as Cypress won 8 of 10 weight classes in its season opener at home.
