SDSU Goalie Breaks Leg

Felipe Hernandez, goalie on San Diego State’s soccer team, broke his lower left leg in practice Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the season.

Hernandez was hurt in a collision with a teammate while trying to make a save, Coach Chuck Clegg said.

Hernandez, a senior from St. Augustine High School and San Diego City College, had five shutouts and an 0.98 goals-against average this season. Clegg said Hernandez will be replaced by Bryan Finnerty, a sophomore from Dana Hills High School in Dana Point.

Finnerty has played in one game this season, a 4-0 victory against Point Loma Nazarene College. The Aztecs (8-3) play University of San Diego tonight at 7 in the Aztec Bowl.
