A bid by some American museums to stage a major new exhibit of Egyptian relics is snagged in disputes with Egypt over revenue sharing and objects to be displayed, museum officials told the Associated Press. Egypt and U.S. exhibitors first haggled over money when the Egyptian government complained that it hadn’t received its fair share of profits from the record-breaking 1979 King Tut tour in the United States. Egyptian officials say the Americans want to put on another version of the King Tut show, which drew more than 8 million people in seven U.S. cities, but are unwilling to pay for the extravaganza. The Americans concede money is a major obstacle.
