South County : Dana Point Woman Identified as Victim
The body of a woman found in the surf off Salt Creek Beach was identified Tuesday as 56-year-old Joan Howard Roesler of Dana Point, officials said.
Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said the woman was identified after her husband filed a missing-person report Monday night, about 14 hours after the body had been found in the ocean by a passer-by.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, but a deputy coroner said an autopsy showed no evidence of foul play.
