Inglewood Swimmer Drowns at Castaic Lake
A swimmer who had been drinking drowned Sunday afternoon in Castaic Lake, authorities said.
The name of the 27-year-old Inglewood man was not disclosed pending notification of relatives, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. L. F. Jenks said.
He had been swimming with friends, who notified county lifeguards about 2:45 p.m. that he was missing, Jenks said.
Lifeguards found him on the lake bottom in seven feet of water 25 yards off shore, Chief Lifeguard Charles Graham said.
One of the man’s companions reported that he had consumed at least six beers, Graham said.
