Jury selection began in the San Mateo County Superior Court trial of two former members of the Billionaire Boys Club charged with the murder of wealthy Iranian exile Hedayat Eslaminia. Defendants Reza Eslaminia, 26, son of the victim, and Ben Dosti, 26, son of a Los Angeles Times food writer, were members of the Billionaire Boys Club. It originally was believed that Eslaminia, a former Iranian parliament member and close associate of the late Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi of Iran, was killed by a hit squad sent by the revolutionary government of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. After his bones were found scattered in a remote Southern California canyon, investigators arrested his son and accused him of a plot to force his father to sign over part of his estimated $30-million fortune.
