Newhall Man to Join Planning Panel

Walter Black, a retired businessman, has been appointed to the Santa Clarita Valley Planning Advisory Committee by Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich.
The committee advises Antonovich and the county’s Regional Planning Department on land use policies and other planning issues, said JoAnne Darcy, the supervisor’s Santa Clarita Valley area field deputy.
Black, a Newhall resident, recently retired as chief of industrial relations of H. R. Textron Inc. of Valencia. He is past president of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.
