NEW YORK — Philadelphia’s Kevin Gross, the latest pitcher to be accused of scuffing baseballs, was suspended for 10 days today by National League President A. Bartlett Giamatti for having an illegal substance glued to his glove. Gross was ejected from Monday night’s game against the Chicago Cubs. (Story, Part III, Page 1.) He is the second pitcher to be ejected in the last 10 days.
