Fullerton : Blood Donor Center Opened at Hospital
- Share via
An American Red Cross-affiliated blood donor center has opened at St. Jude Hospital, and officials there expect it to serve primarily autologous donors--those patients who donate blood for themselves before anticipated surgery.
The center, staffed with registered and licensed vocational nurses from the American Red Cross, also will serve volunteer donors and those who wish to donate to specific patients, officials said.
The center is open every Monday from 2:30 to 8 p.m. in the hospital’s new surgery admitting area. All blood donated through the center is tested for blood type and group, the presence of unexpected antibodies, venereal disease, hepatitis and AIDS antibodies.
Appointments are required and can be made by calling (714) 992-3932.
