Production of ice cream at a factory in Shasta County will not resume until state and federal agencies complete an investigation of bacteria found in one flavor, a company spokesman said. McColl’s dairy, a 50-year-old Redding firm recalled all its ice cream from reta1768693871followed discovery of Listeria organisms in a sample of McColl’s pecan praline ice cream. “We have not (resumed) production,†said Gene Gerwer, quality control manager at the McColl’s plant. “Tests are still being run by the state Department of Food and Agriculture and the federal Food and Drug Administration.†Gerwer said test results may not be known for three or four weeks.
