Arena Football, riding a tide of high attendance and television ratings, will return for another summer of indoor professional football in 1988 with more teams and games, the game’s founder said.
The four-team league will expand to eight teams and perhaps as many as 10 next summer and will play a 12-game schedule, compared to this year’s experimental six-game schedule, Arena Football President Jim Foster said.
In its charter member cities of Pittsburgh, Denver, Washington and Chicago, average attendance was about 12,000.
