Melvin Foster, the top Texas prep football recruit in 1986, told NCAA investigators that a former Oklahoma State assistant coach promised to repair his car and fly his mother to home games if he signed to play for the school, according to a report in the Dallas Times Herald.

The newspaper said that Foster said that former Oklahoma State assistant Willie Anderson promised “to take care of me†if he played for the Cowboys.

“Put it this way, if I had gone to Oklahoma State, I would’ve been able to make myself a deal,†said Foster, a former prep star at Houston’s Jack Yates High School who is now a linebacker at Iowa.
