A piano once owned by John Lennon and a variety of other Beatle memorabilia may end up as federal property, because a Boston prosecutor alleges that they were purchased with profits from drug trafficking. A grand jury indicted three Massachusetts men last week, accusing them of selling 55 tons of marijuana. The prosecution is asking for foreiture of a 48-foot yacht, a Boston condominium, Virgin Islands land and Beatles memorabilia bought at auction in London, including Lennon’s piano, on which he wrote several songs.
