CSUN Catcher Skips Final Season, Signs With San Francisco

Danny Fernandez, a reserve catcher on the Cal State Northridge baseball team, has signed a contract with the San Francisco Giants.

Fernandez was a senior last year academically but had one year of baseball eligibility remaining at CSUN.

Fernandez played in 10 games for the Matadors last spring, batting .400 in 20 at-bats. He will report to the Giants’ Arizona Instructional League team in September.
