Esperanza Wins Girls’ Soccer League

Esperanza High School defeated Foothill, 6-2, Thursday to cap its perfect season in the Orange County Girls’ High School Soccer League.
Maria de la Torre scored 12 goals to lead the Aztecs to a 10-0 record.
Esperanza, which scored 61 goals but allowed only 3 the entire season, was helped by senior Terry Fraizer with 11 goals and sophomore Jill Cieslek with 10.
Brea-Olinda (5-5) and Sunny Hills (4-4-2) tied for second place, and Foothill finished third.
