CRISTINA FERRARE BACK ON ‘AM L.A.’

Cristina Ferrare will return as co-host of KABC-TV’s “AM Los Angeles” on Aug. 24 as part of a plan to revamp the daily program for possible syndication. The show also will have a new set and add a live audience. Steve Edwards hosts the program that airs 9-10 a.m. Monday through Friday on Channel 7.
Ferrare previously worked on “AM Los Angeles” from September, 1984, until leaving last November to have a baby. Patty Duke took over as co-host but left in February because of film commitments. Edwards has worked with rotating co-hosts since then.
A station spokesman said the plan is to dress up the program and hopefully syndicate it, much as Oprah Winfrey’s program started locally in Chicago then expanded into a syndicated hit.
“A.M. Los Angeles” has been on the air since 1965.
