Gateway Communications Has 2nd Quarter Decline

Gateway Communications Inc., an Irvine-based supplier of computer networking products, said its second-quarter earnings declined 37% to $203,248 from the year-earlier $321,575. Sales for the period increased 23% to $3.4 million from $2.7 million.

For the six months ended June 30, Gateway reported earnings of $856,809, up 49% from $573,530 in the first half of 1986. Sales for the first half were $7.5 million, an increase of 53% from $4.9 million a year earlier.
