Lobbyist Hired by State Building Industry Assn.

Richard J. Lyon, 38, of Sacramento, has joined the California Building Industry Assn. as a legislative advocate.

His responsibilities will include the Department of Real Estate and the Local Agency Formation Commission, land use, state licensing and regulatory agencies, legislative building codes and standards and permits.

Previously, Lyon had been associated with a private lobbying firm and represented Butte, Merced, Riverside, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tulare counties. A native of Sacramento, he did his undergraduate studies at Cal State Sacramento and is currently working toward his master’s at the same school.
