DETROIT — Ballistics tests show that three Inkster police officers shot to death at a motel while serving a bad check warrant were shot by revolvers they carried into the motel, a newspaper reported Saturday.
The tests also showed that at least two of the three officers were hit by bullets from weapons owned by the suspects, Alberta Easter and her three sons, the Detroit Free Press said, citing Wayne County law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.
A funeral was scheduled today in Augusta, Ark., for Inkster police Sgt. Ira Parker, 41, who was killed July 9 along with officers Daniel Dubiel, 36, and Clay Hoover, 24.
Easter, 69, and her sons Roy Lemons Jr., 47, William M. Lemons, 43, and George L. Lemons, 46, have pleaded innocent to first-degree murder charges in the killings at the Bungalow Motel in Inkster.
