Rolling Hills to Survey Auto Speed

The Rolling Hills City Council will spend up to $4,000 for a speed zoning survey on five streets where police radar is used. The city hired Willdan Associates of Industry to perform the survey, which will be completed before February.
The city, through the county sheriff, enforces speed laws with radar. To maintain radar accuracy the California Vehicle Code requires that speed limits be reviewed every five years. The last speed surveys were completed in 1983.
Willdan will begin the survey on Portuguese Bend Road, two portions of Crest Road, Eastfield Drive, Saddleback Road and Southfield Drive in September. Completion is expected in November.
