Irresponsible Few Don’t Make an Alcoholic Whole

In the article “NHL Has a Drinking Problem--but There’s No Penalty” on Tuesday June 30th, I have to agree with NHL President John Ziegler’s comments about the league not having an alcohol problem.
Julie Cart used about six or seven cases as evidence for alcohol addiction in the NHL. However, only two of those cases were legitimate. The others, according to the article, were one-time events. If someone goes out, drinks too much and gets arrested, that does not make him an alcoholic.
Unless further evidence of alcoholism arises, I don’t feel the NHL has a drinking problem.
