Phil Donahue is moving his talk show from NBC’s Rockefeller Center in New York to Connecticut, allegedly to avoid crossing picket lines set up by the NABET technicians striking the network. A spokesman for Donahue said Thursday that the talk show will be produced at Connecticut Public Television in Stamford. The talk-show host has agreed to rent a studio and hire support staff there through July, staying on through September if the NABET strike lasts that long, said Walt Nichol, Connecticut Public Television’s general manager. “I give him (Donahue) credit for not wanting to cross picket lines and offend the technicians who have made shows like his so successful,” said Arthur Kent, president of NABET’s Local 11 in New York.
