A preliminary autopsy on Althea Flynt, wife of the Hustler magazine publisher, proved inconclusive, according to a coroner spokesman. The 33-year-old wife of porn publisher Larry Flynt, 45, died Saturday in the bathtub of their Doheny Estates mansion. Coroner’s spokesman Bill Gold said tissue studies and toxicological tests will be needed to determine the cause of death. Larry Flynt, who was paralyzed below the waist as a result of a 1978 assassination attempt, issued a statement, saying, “I will greatly miss her warmth, honesty, devotion and loyalty.†Althea Flynt, who was co-publisher of Hustler and several other magazines with her husband, had suffered from an extended illness, according to the Flynts’ attorney, Alan Isaacman.
