One-third of the House Republicans will endorse Vice President George Bush for the 1988 GOP presidential nomination, Bush’s campaign said. “I think this is an extremely strong showing . . . that translates into grass-roots support,†said Rep. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), chairman of Bush’s congressional steering committee. Of the 177 GOP House members, 65 were to publicly endorse Bush in a ceremony today at the Capitol.
