* * 1/2 “BLOW YOUR COOL.” Hoodoo Gurus. Elektra. On its first two albums, “Stoneage Romeos” and “Mars Needs Guitars,” this Australian party machine established a wild style ranging from Cramps-like surfabilly to witty, tuneful pop. This time around the quartet seems a little restrained, from the absence of funny dedications to a lack of unforgettable hooks in singer-guitarist Dave Faulkner’s songs. Maybe making its big label debut caused the band to smooth its edges a bit. Still, there’s plenty of fun in these grooves, with such catchy songs as “Out That Door” and “I Was the One” and beer-shakers as “Hell For Leather” that rival the group’s best.
