Dokes Arrested Third Time on Traffic Charges
Michael Dokes, former World Boxing Assn. heavyweight champion, has been arrested in Las Vegas on traffic charges--his third arrest in the last eight months, police said Thursday.
Police said Dokes, 28, was booked and jailed Monday on charges of driving with a revoked license, operating a car with expired license plates and improperly passing a vehicle on the left. He was later released.
Dokes was put on five years’ probation and ordered to undergo counseling for drug abuse in February after he pleaded guilty to possession of eight ounces of cocaine. He was arrested again in April on charges of driving under the influence, being under the influence and violating probation.
