The University of Texas has lost three of its six returning basketball players because of academic deficiencies, Coach Bob Weltlich said.

Point guard Alex Broadway, a part-time starter, and reserve center-forwards David Cones and Jerome Spinner will not be readmitted to the university for the fall semester, Weltlich said.
