Top Prep Golfers Play at North Ranch
The top boys and girls golfers from the Southern, Central and San Diego Sections compete today in the CIF Southern California Golf Assn. Championships at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake. A shotgun start begins at 7 a.m.
Westlake High School, which has not lost a match at North Ranch--its home course--in four years, is a heavy favorite in the team competition.
Christy Erb of San Diego’s University High, who broke the Lakeside women’s course record in winning the SCGA last year, is the favorite in the girls division. Three weeks ago, she won the Lake Tahoe Memorial in a playoff with Redlands’ Michele Lyford.
