Titan Rocket Test Set
A 90-foot Titan-34D solid-fuel booster rocket is scheduled for a vertical ignition test at Edwards Air Force Base at 2 p.m. today, leading the way to resumption of major U.S. military space launches.
The rocket, which develops 1.4 million pounds of thrust, will be anchored to its test stand during the two-minute firing. The Titan-34D has been grounded since failures in 1985 and 1986.
