SOUTHERN SECTION BASEBALL PLAYOFFS : 1-A : Whittier Christian Beats La Salle, 10-3
John Stapleton was 3 for 4 with a double and four runs batted in to lead Whittier Christian High School to a 10-3 victory over La Salle in a Southern Section 1-A baseball game Tuesday at La Salle.
Shannon Wright (3-5) allowed three hits and struck out three in four innings for Whittier Christian. Mike Goodcase relieved Wright in the fifth inning, striking out four to earn the save.
Goodcase also had a solo home run in the fifth inning, drove in two runs and scored four. Don Unruh added a two-run home run for the Heralds (18-5).
La Salle finishes 16-8.
