Television viewers in several Orange County communities lost their picture of the final 27 seconds of the Boston Celtics-Detroit Pistons National Basketball Assn. playoff game Tuesday night.
Callers to The Times complained that with 27 seconds remaining and the Celtics leading by a point, a test pattern appeared on the screen in place of the game, being aired by WTBS. After about 10 minutes, the Atlanta Braves-St. Louis Cardinals game was picked up in progress.
Viewers in Huntington Beach, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Midway City, Stanton, Cypress and Garden Grove were affected. The area is served by Rogers Cablesystems of California, based in Garden Grove.
A spokesman at Rogers said that he believed there were “technical difficulties.”
