Dwight Gooden, making his fourth start since cocaine rehabilitation, was hit hard in pitching seven innings for Triple-A Tidewater in a 5-4 victory over Pawtucket. Gooden gave up four earned runs, nine hits, walked two and struck out six. He was the winning pitcher in the seven-inning game, the opener of a doubleheader.
