Federal authorities are reviewing expense records of administrators at the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital for possible Medicare billing improprieties, the Daily News reported Sunday. The review should determine if the show biz hospital and retirement home billed Medicare improperly for expenses incurred by officials and their wives on hospital-related trips and seminars, unidentified sources told the newspaper. About 300 film-industry retirees, including actresses Mary Astor and actor Wilfrid Hyde-White, live at the home, which cares for retired actors, writers and technical workers.
