Military Tops Recruit Goal in First Half of Fiscal Year

WASHINGTON — The nation’s armed services met or exceeded their recruitment goals for the first half of fiscal 1987, the Pentagon announced. Overall, the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps enlisted 152,000 men and women during the six months that ended in March, exceeding their combined goal of 150,900.
