Sheriff’s deputies identified a woman who was stabbed to death by burglars at her La Habra Heights home Wednesday as Ramona Gayton, 40, niece of Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn. A 19-year-old neighbor woman, who also was stabbed by the man and woman who forced their way into Mrs. Gayton’s home, was reported in critical condition at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital of Whittier. The Sheriff’s Department declined to identify her. Neighbors said the suspects, a man and woman in their late 20s, had come to several homes in the neighborhood seeking work as gardeners. Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Gary Kotler said they entered the house by threatening the two women with a handgun.
