Three California teams--Cal State Fullerton, Pepperdine and Stanford--are among the top eight seeded schools in the NCAA Division I baseball championships.
Stanford (44-16) is top seeded in the West I Regional and will open at home Friday against Minnesota (36-23). Pepperdine (46-10) is No. 1 in the West II Regional and will open Thursday at Tempe, Ariz., against Arizona (34-24). Fullerton (42-15) is atop the South Regional in New Orleans and will face Southern Baton Rouge (30-20) Thursday.
The other five top-seeded teams for the 41st Division I championships are Arkansas (46-14) in the South I Regional, Florida State (50-15) in the Atlantic, Georgia Tech (51-12) in the Northeast, Oklahoma State (51-10) in the Mideast and Texas (54-9) in the Central.
Among the teams receiving at-large berths are UCLA (37-23), which will play Hawaii (44-17) Friday in the West II Regional, and UC Santa Barbara (30-23), which will face Wichita State (58-18) Friday in the West I Regional.
