Countywide : KOCE Director to Be Honored for Services
The director of community relations for KOCE, the county’s public television station, will be honored this week by the Orange County Urban League.
Jo Caines, who has volunteered her services to several causes over the last 20 years, will receive the Henry A. Talbert Award at the league’s fourth annual banquet Thursday night.
Los Angeles Rams Coach John Robinson will be the keynote speaker for the festivities at The Westin South Coast Plaza hotel in Costa Mesa.
Caines, who recently was appointed to the State Advisory Council on Black Affairs, serves on the boards of directors of of seven local nonprofit community organizations, including United Way and Children’s Home Society.
Merritt L. Johnson, president of Orange County United Way, will serve as master of ceremonies at the fund-raising awards banquet.
