San Francisco Giants infielder Rob Wilfong left the club Sunday for his West Covina home, where he will reassess his baseball career after just two appearances with the Giants, General Manager Al Rosen said.
Wilfong met with Rosen and Manager Roger Craig before the game between the Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday and expressed uncertainty over whether he wanted to continue his career, Rosen said.
Wilfong, 33, signed with San Francisco as a free agent after being released by the Angels in April.
