Taiyo Investments USA, Torrance-based affiliate of one of Japan’s major construction firms, plans to develop a $20-million, 34-acre residential community in Anaheim Hills, with home prices expected to be in the upper-$300,000 range.
Construction on the 49-home project, as yet unnamed, is expected to start in August, with Sierra Valencia Development Corp. of Newhall, active in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys for more than 23 years, as builder-partner. The property is near the juncture of Via Arboles and Ramsgate Drive and overlooks the Anaheim Hills Golf and Country Club.
It will be the second housing project undertaken this year by Taiyo which announced in March that it was joint venturing a new community in Mesa, Ariz.
Masao Horiuchi, chairman of the board of Taiyo Investments, also announced that Neil La Belle, formerly a partner of Dillon, Colo.-based Westco, builder of condominiums in Colorado and Michigan, will serve as project supervisor on the Anaheim project. Hillside view lots will range from a half-acre to an acre for homes ranging in size from 3,200 to 3,900 square feet.
