La Mirada : Ashley Chosen to Be Mayor

Ben Ashley was selected to be mayor for his final year on the La Mirada City Council. Ashley, a banking consultant who was first elected to the council in 1980, has said he will not run for a third term in 1988.
During the council’s annual reorganization, Councilman Wayne Rew was named mayor pro tem, virtually assuring his selection next year as mayor.
