‘The Court Tunes Out’

Your editorial and Conrad’s depiction of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on the death penalty was about as surprising to me as the morning sun.
You start off by accusing the justice system, quote: “The only possible explanation is that the justice system values white lives more highly than black lives.”
This condemnation of the men and women in our country’s highest court, is not only libelous but also artless.
I am sure most people, black and white, trust and respect the integrity of Justices Lewis F. Powell Jr., Sandra Day O’Connor, Byron R.White, Antonin Scalia and Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist.
