San Diego High School Baseball : Carroll Has Homer, 2 Doubles as Granite Hills Romps, 10-5

Donnie Carroll, who was 4 for 4 with two doubles and a homer, and Shawn O’Coyne, who hit a two-run homer, paced Granite Hills High School to a 10-5 victory over Helix in a Grossmont League game at Granite Hills.
Granite Hills, which is 8-1 in league and 16-3 overall, extended its winning streak to 10 games. Helix is 5-5 and 8-10.
Starter Mike Raskind (8-1) pitched five innings.
Jason Ledford led Helix with three doubles and scored three runs.
In other Grossmont League action:
Grossmont 22, Santana 4--Doug Davis was 4 for 5 with 5 RBIs and Mike Ramsey hit the game’s only home run, a solo shot in the fifth, to lead Grossmont at Santana. Grossmont (7-3, 15-5) rallied for seven runs in the third inning and was helped by three walks and an error. In the sixth, Mike Rendina and Davis each hit two-run singles to highlight an eight-run rally. Starter Lance Dickson struck out six in five innings for the victory. Santana is 6-4, 12-7.
Valhalla 7, El Cajon 1--Designated hitter Brad Denike was 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and Eric Yetta added a two-run homer in the seventh to lead Valhalla (6-4, 8-8) at El Cajon. Justin Post struck out five en route to the complete-game victory. Rusty Pennock was 2 for 4 to lead El Cajon (2-8, 5-11).
El Capitan 2, Monte Vista 1--Jerry Aldridge’s single to left scored Andy Johns from second to snap a 1-1 tie in the seventh. El Capitan starter Nino DiMaio went the distance, striking out six.
