USIU Settles for Split Against Nevada Reno
United States International University’s softball team split a doubleheader with Nevada Reno Wednesday at Reno. USIU (7-1, 19-14) lost the first game, 1-0, but won the second by the same score.
Johna Allen singled in Becky Wolfe in the ninth inning for USIU in the second game. Terry Esquivel (10-6) was the winning pitcher.
In the first game, Susie Benson singled in Yvette Denday in the third inning for Reno (6-2, 14-29). Beth Pierpoint (11-16) was the winner; Karen Winkler (7-8) lost for USIU.
